The Health Impact Fund - A creative approach to reform

Poverty causes about a third of human deaths. It increases vulnerability to disease, for example through chronic malnutrition, now suffered by around a billion people. Poverty also blocks access to healthcare - to doctors and the best medication, which in many cases hasn't even been developed for common tropical diseases. In this presentation Thomas Pogge describes a creative way to reform the current pharmaceuticals system - the Health Impact Fund - which would significantly reduce the healthcare deficits of the poor.
