Austria nationalizes bank to avert deeper financial crisis

The Austrian government has stepped in and nationalized the Hypo Group Alpe Adria bank, in which Germany's ailing BayernLB has a 67 percent shareholding, amid fears that its collapse could have a "domino" effect.
