Hütter linked with Werder Bremen job
November 7, 2017According to reports in Germany and Switzerland, Werder Bremen are interested in hiring Young Boys head coach Adi Hütter to replace the departed Alexander Nouri. The club's sporting director Frank Baumann was in attendance to see Hütter's team play out a 1-1 draw with FC Basel last weekend as they defended their seven-point lead at the top of the Swiss Super League.
Hütter has previously worked with Austrian outfits SCR Altach and RB Salzburg, with whom he won the domestic double in 2015 and, with his contract due to run out in the summer, appears to be Bremen's prime candidate ahead of Bruno Labbadia and Maik Walpurgis.
Werder have been without a head coach since the end of October having dismissed Alexander Nouri following a run of 10 games without a win.
On Matchday 11, the North German side were on the receiving end of Sebastian Haller's last-gasp winner in a 2-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, a result which left them sitting in 17th place in the Bundesliga, five points adrift of safety.
Bremen are now hoping to use the international break to resolve the current situation ahead of their clash with Hannover 96 in the Matchday 12 curtain-closer.
