She says: "In the absence of sufficient social, legal or political force at the domestic level, only concerted and deterrent external pressure in the form of comprehensive economic and political sanctions can potentially stop Erdogan."

Bülent Mumay is a Turkish journalist currently living in Germany. He says: "Erdogan is a strong, elected leader. The only measure to stop him can and should only be the election ballot. Pressure from outside is not effective anymore. It’s too late, the reason is the hypocrisy of the western world."
