EU passes GM food law

This week the European Parliament passed a new law giving EU states authority to use genetically modified (GM) crops. Now, if a GM crop is ruled safe, governments can decide for themselves whether to opt-out of cultivating it. But the measure has received criticism from environmental groups. DW talks to Marco Contiero, Greenpeace EU agriculture policy director, to get his take.
