Three years after becoming the first country to allow gay marriage by a popular vote, 66 per cent of the Irish electorate has decided to allow abortions in Ireland. It represents a massive societal change in attitudes in a country that, under massive influence from the Catholic Church, was once one of the most conservative in Europe.
