Livelihood of millions threatened as Lake Chad dries up

The rapid shrinking of Lake Chad over the past few years has put the lives of 30 million people on the line. The lake used to be Africa's largest body of water, but now only 10 percent of its original quantity remains. Now, efforts are underway to transfer water from the Obangui River in the Congo to Lake Chad to save the lake and the people who depend on it.
