Hundreds of schools across Germany participated in a minute of silence on Tuesday for the victims of the hostage drama in Russia just over a week ago. Germany's education authorities called on their state representatives to order a minute of silence in all schools 12 p.m. The move came after the president of the European Parliament, Josep Borrell Fontelles, called for a Europe-wide memorial minute to remember the more than 350 children and adults who lost their lives after being held hostage at a school in North Ossetia.
