Picasso's Private Side Unveiled in Berlin

Works by Pablo Picasso that are making their first-ever showing outside France were unveiled in Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie on Thursday. The exhibit, called "The Private Picasso," is a collection of paintings, sculptures and other works that the Spanish artist kept in his own private collection until his death in 1973, after which they were given to the French government. In 1985, the pieces were open to the public in the Picasso Museum in Paris. The artworks, which were dear to the artist's heart because of their personal meaning to him, include some in which his wives, lovers and children served as models. The exhibit runs until January 22.
