Seznam – The Czech counterpart to Google

In the Czech Republic, Seznam is the most popular online search portal. In the rest of the world, Google is on top.

On many computers in the Czech Republic, seznam.cz is the home browser. Nearly two-thirds of all computer users in the country use the search portal. One reason behind its success is that Seznam went online in 1996, two years before Google. And Seznam also offers a wealth of local information. For many Czech citizens, it’s a slice of home.
