Welcome to this week's eco@africa
August 31, 2017What do you think of when you hear eco@africa? Perhaps, of a program that brings you a mix of the latest eco innovations and issues from Africa and Europe? Well, this week's show is no different.
First we head to Uganda, where we find out how sugar is being used as a sweet sustainable solution to the country's energy problems.
Then we head to Germany where the city of Essen is in the throes of shaking off its fossil fuel past and is turning over a new green leaf.
After that it's back to Africa to visit with some vultures. The much-maligned creatures are endangered. And that's bad news for the ecosystem.
In Nigeria, we find out how a group of young people is doing their bit to raise awareness about the environmental problems the country faces and is inspiring their peers to act.
Finally, we turn to Europe to learn about medicinal plants and herbs and find out how they are being sustainably harvested in Kosovo.
