World in Progress: Violence in Brazil on the increase

Brazil has been making headlines in recent months with a surge in murders and violent crime. More than 28,000 homicides were registered in the first half of this year alone, a jump of nearly two thousand over last year. More than half of this jump has come from one northeastern state Pernambuco, as Zoe Sullivan reports.
